On July 4-5, 2024, a high-level international energy exhibition and forum was held in Tbilisi, organized by GREDA, Invest in Network and Expo Georgia. The main topic of the forum was the crucial role of Georgia as a renewable energy corridor. Galt & Taggart representatives Vano Kikvilashvili, Head of Capital Markets at Galt & Taggart, and Mariam Chakhvashvili, Sector Head of Research at Galt & Taggart, participated in the event.

The speech of Vano Kikvilashvili, Head of Capital Markets at Galt & Taggart, focused on financing renewable energy projects through the capital market. The presentation focused on the criteria that need to be met to obtain green financing. The speaker also discussed the most relevant financing issues for the construction of wind farms and other renewable energy generation.

The forum featured a panel discussion on maximizing hydropower potential, led by Mariam Chakhvashvili, Head of Galt & Taggart’s Energy Sector. Representatives of hydropower developers, the State Electric System and Invest in Georgia discussed the issue of maximizing hydropower potential, the challenges of the sector and ways to solve them.

It was noted at the event that, given the abundant resources and potential of renewable energy, the country has the opportunity to become an important part of the energy landscape of the region and position itself as an exporter of clean energy across Europe.

The forum was attended by representatives of the energy sector, renewable energy developers, large electricity consumers, the government sector, and financial organizations from both Georgia and around the world. An exhibition was held in parallel with the forum, where international brands presented the latest achievements and innovations in the sector to the attendees.
