Investment firm Galt & Taggart continues to support partner businesses. This time, with the involvement of the investment bank, IG Development Georgia received the global green building certificate EDGE (Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiencies).

EDGE is a certification system developed by the International Finance Corporation, a member of the World Bank Group. It assesses how efficient a building is in terms of using and saving water, energy and construction materials and is an internationally recognized standard.

IG Development Georgia has received the EDGE Advanced certificate, which means that its energy consumption has been reduced by more than 40% compared to standard indicators.

IG Development Georgia has become the first company in both the corporate and real estate sectors in Georgia to receive the EDGE Advanced certificate.

The certificate was awarded to both Gldani and Saburtalo City Malls, as well as the Saburtalo Business Center – City Tower.

“It is especially important for us to support partners who implement innovative projects in the market. Together with the IG Development Georgia team, we went through important processes during the certification process and we are pleased that the company received the EDGE Advanced level certificate. This once again emphasizes the company’s vision for sustainable development and its leading positions in the real estate sector. It is particularly proud that with the involvement of Galt & Taggart, the company has established an important standard, which ultimately serves to strengthen both the business sector and the country’s economy,” says Giorgi Kuprashvili, General Director of Galt & Taggart.

“Since 2022, IG Development Georgia has been cooperating with Galt & Taggart and has successfully implemented five large bond issues during this period. The company has more than 15 years of experience in the real estate sector, and is the first major developer in the Georgian corporate and real estate market to successfully implement large-scale shopping center projects,” says Levan Meskhel, General Director of IG Development Georgia and member of the Supervisory Board.

IG Development owns two leading shopping centers in Tbilisi – City Mall Saburtalo and City Mall Gldani, as well as the business complex City Tower, which operate at 100% capacity and meet the high demands of the modern market. By receiving the EDGE Advanced certificate, the company demonstrates a high level of energy efficiency and paves the way for the introduction of new standards of sustainable development.
