Head of Research, Kakha Samkurashvili, presented an overview of global commodity markets.

One of the main topics of the event was the globally tightened monetary policy, the geopolitical situation in the region and the response of central banks to these processes.

The speakers at the event on various issues were David Vavra, International Consultant of the National Bank of Georgia, and representatives of the financial sector.

“We are pleased to have participated in the conference organized by the National Bank of Georgia, where we had the opportunity to share our findings on global commodity markets with economists, financiers, international organizations and representatives of the non-governmental sector. It is worth noting that it is unthinkable to discuss the raw materials market without taking into account the context created by global, political, military and economic processes. Accordingly, at the conference we discussed the effects of both the Red Sea crisis and the Israel-Hamas war on global oil prices and, accordingly, on the region,” said Kakha Samkurashvili.
